I thought I'd open a new thread so that people can comment on Pastor Gerda's art.  Just hit the "reply" link at the bottom of this page if you'd like to share something about her paintings (which you can view by at http://www.redbankchurch.com/art.html).

Thanks!

Very impressive art, especially when you see it hanging in a gallery!

Wow, the self-portrait blew me away! I hope people get the message behind the artwork and truly ponder it. What a wonderful talent.

Amazing work! However, the first installment of the self-portrait is reminiscent of a look one gets when one doesn't clean their room after being asked. Not that I would know about that or anything. -L

Great paintings!  They connect to the Word and become alive! I will share them on a A4 printout with my friends!

Gerda,
I was inspired by your gift.  Please don't ever put the paint brush down again! God is so good to bless His children with gifts that inevitably point others back to Him.  Your gift is evident throughout the church -- even beyond the artwork.  May you be richly blessed as you live for the King!

Pastor Gerda,

Your work is beautiful!  And you've found a way to perfectly integrate art, church and life!  Bravo!

Gerda, you have a unique ability to sermonize in color. I have been blessed over and over by the way God has used Lenny, you, and boys. I am richer by our friendship. We think of you all often even if we don't touch base often. BTW hope you have a great Bday!

The portrait of Pastor Gerda 'lost' is very compelling, aesthetically.  Maybe this is just something about my taste, but it also reminds us that lost and found are halves of one whole, like couples, and the pomegranate.

These works are very strong and beautiful.

Peace

Pastor Gerda has an amazing touch with her art, just like she does with her parishioners.  She is able to work magic with both.  Pastor Gerda is so accomplished with all media, it is always a privilege to be in the presence of her art.

Wow, Gerda. your pictures are amazing. Yhey really look good. I like the first picture the most. You can see how the two different parts of the day belong together, even though there is such a strong border in the middle. Just great art!!!

I love these.  They are wonderful.  I especially love the 3-part self-portrait   What a beautiful way to portray to the world how you see your salvation.  I'm very impressed.

Came over from live journal, where your husband introduced us to your art.

Love it! It was really nice to be able to see such an artistic and real life side to one of the Christianity community posters.

Wish I lived closer so I could visit and see for myself.
